This 2 days computer based course explains and teaches the fundamentals of SQL (Structured Query Language) and the concept of database designs. Candidates will learn how to build simple to complex CRUD (create, read, update and delete) SQL queries, populate test data, derive data comparisons and results from databases. Practical examples and exercises are provided.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
The learning objectives for this course include an understanding of:
- Introduction to Databases
- The trainer will present and explain how databases operates and the structures of database designs, namely database relationship models, storage, tables, records, data types, primary and foreign keys.
- CRUD – Create, Read, Update and Delete Statements
- Candidates will learn how to build simple SQL queries through practical computer based exercises for creating, reading, updating and deleting data records from databases.
- Advanced CRUD Statements
- This section introduces candidates to advanced create, read, update and delete SQL statements for multiple tables in a database. SQL Joins, Unions and Intersections will be taught for data comparisons and data reporting tasks. The trainer will also teach candidates how to populate databases for testing or development purposes and timesaving technical methods on how to import and export database records or data from/to a file.
- Functions and Expressions
- Candidates will learn how to use regular arithmetic and logical expressions and functions to derive data specific results from databases.

CERTIFICATION:
